The Challenge

A growing retail chain had expanded from 3 to 12 branches over 5 years — each branch running a different POS system bought independently. Inventory was tracked per branch with no consolidated view. End-of-day reconciliation required calling every branch manager, and monthly stock counts took 2 weeks to complete. Promotions and loyalty programs could only run at select branches due to system incompatibility.
